The Under 17 footballers became Sevens Football Champions in 2001. On a wet, miserable day at Woodlands, Eire Og won their section, beating Lamh Dhearg and a good St Enda’s team on the way in a thrilling end to end game. Then, in the South Antrim final, they beat Davitt’s to qualify for the All County Sevens final. This was played at Casement Park but unfortunately the Under 17 Ogs were beaten by Aghagallon in the decider
