P3 match - Saturday 18th May 2002
Eire Og v St Galls

This was a bit of a grudge mach for Eire Og, as the last time out resulted in a real hammering. May Day at the St Mary’s Pitch saw no goals scored by Eire Og P3’s as they were beaten by a margin of 2 goals & 2 points. Another day, another game – Saturday 18th May started well with Darragh getting the opening goal in record time! The glory was short lived when St Galls made their mark and the game was on. Our newly installed keeper Tony played well keeping the final score a draw, but Man of the Match must go to John for a terrific defending job and a bruised lip to show for it. The next match is against St Agnes’s P3’s at our Rathmore pitch Saturday 25-05-02. Kick off 10.30am sharp(ish), some tickets still available.

Eire Og P3's v St Agnes’ P3's Saturday 25th May 2002
Eire Og 6-1 St Agnes’s 6-0

A big thank you is due to John Mohan of St Agnes’ for gathering his team of P3’s for the match against Eire Og on Saturday 25th May. The sun shone through for a brilliantly played end to end match at Rathmore. St Agnes’s had a well positioned team with Curtis Cummings in defence, Conor Compton midfield and Donal Carson up front under constant pressure from Conor Burns. Young Ciaran Mohan a P2 had a few shots on target thanks to his Da’s vintage coaching, keeping the score even after the first half. Eire Og had plenty of players to choose from and the second half proved a real headache for Crick Browning doing head counts. Conor Hughes came on for Eire Og and made a positive impression with some clean quick passing. Daniel was almost on the receiving end of something else from Curtis Cummings after some improvised tackling techniqiues. Keeping the St Agnes’s mentors off the pitch – some worse than the mothers – fell to referee Sean O’Neill, the ball crossed the line from any angle on (nearly) all his calls!
